Sayer Alley

Just one Streets, past and present, of Downtown Utica's Columbia-Lafayette Neighborhood. This alley is no more, it was eliminated for The Wynn Hospital.

Sayer Alley is in Cola's Central-East block group, it connects Columbia Street to Lafayette Street. You would need to use Sayer to get to the rear of the Jones Building.

August 8, 2019 - Theodore Sheldon Sayre was elected mayor of Utica in March 1874...

A conflict seems to appear, as "Sayre" was the name in a prominant furnace manufacturer's name; Sayre, Owens & Company located at 41 Fayette Street. While modern maps list this Utica street as Sayer, it is probably in error. BUD will investigate and find the connections.

We're not opposed to a new hospital, just do not bulldoze Downtown Utica's Historic Columbia-Lafayette Neighborhood... "Build It At St. Luke's!"
